ABOUT BANNISTAR

We focus on creating brand strategies derived from deep human insight to bring out and deliver the authentic value of brands.

Our work presents people with a new paradigm for their lives. We tap into human psychology and desires from multiple perspectives, as our marketing and creative teams work together to intrinsically connect people with brands.
Our services range from consumer behavior analysis based on intentionality, to the development of brand concepts, products, naming, packaging, point of sale materials, websites and various sales support tools and branding identity expressions, all the way to the development of brand guidelines and internal branding materials.

Masato Hosoya

CEO - Director

Graduated from Hosei University, Department of Architecture and from Waseda University, Graduate School of Business and Finance.
Founded Bannistar in 2008 after working as a Senior Consultant at NTT and Landor Associates.
Specializes in comprehensive brand communication building, with strategy-building experience in fields such as company and product branding, packaging, and digital design, TV commercials.

Experience includes work with companies such as P&G, OMRON Healthcare, Sunstar GUM, Recaldent, Belle Maison, Ajinomoto, Oronine H Ointment, OS-1, Aprica, Sunkist, Asahi-Shuzo, Lipton, Tsujiri, Rosette, Takara Hon-mirin, Shochikubai, Volvic, Evian, Kracie, Jikkuri Kotokoto Nikonda Soup, Tokyo DisneySea, Hoshino Resorts, SOYJOY, Mt.RAINIER Caffè Latte, Fuji Xerox, Nissan Motor Corporation, and Morinaga Oishii Gyunyu Milk.

Ryoko Uchida

Creative Director

Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Science of Design.
Joined Bannistar as the Creative Director in 2017, after involvement in motorcycle design at GK Industrial Design, experience in branding design at Japanese brand consulting firm ODS and at an international brand consulting firm Interbrand as a Creative Director. Specializes in branding design, with experience in a wide range of fields in both domestic and global markets, from FMCG packaging to branding for megabanks.

Minoru Sato

Senior Design Director

Began work in 1987 at American brand consulting firm Landor Associates. Responsibilities at Landor Associates included branding for corporations such as airlines, banks, and travel agencies as a designer, as well as consumer marketing in fields such as beverage and food products, alcohol, toiletries, and pet food as Senior Design Director.
Joined Bannistar as the Senior Design Director, working on branding design, after further experience in 2008 as the Art Director at a design firm.

Nao Matsushima

Planner

Graduated from Hitotsubashi University, Faculty of Social Sciences.
Prior work experience includes sales at Proctor & Gamble Japan.
Currently works in branding planning and marketing at Bannistar.

Takaya Odagawa

Planner

Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University, Faculty of Social Informatics.
Formerly worked in marketing at a Japanese hotel management company.
Current position is in brand strategy marketing and planning at Bannistar.

Motoko Ishida

Designer

Graduated from Tama Art University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Graphic Design.
Joined Bannistar after experience as an assistant designer at a graphic design firm. At Bannistar, works in branding design and the development of packaging in fields such as food and beverage products and cosmetic toiletries as a Designer.

Takao Teramura

Designer

Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, Faculty of Design, Department of Industrial Design
Joined Bannistar after experience at a publishing firm and a graphic design firm. Works on the packaging of home products such as toiletries, as well as branding design in fields such as apps and information systems.

Chinatsu Ishida

Designer

Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Oil Painting, Majored in Printmaking.
Joined Bannistar after experience in product planning, illustration, and design at a manufacturer.

Yasuhito Hosomi

Accounting

Graduated from Kansai University, Faculty of Business and Commerce.
Gained experience in accounting at a major steel company, before working in accounting and human resources at Bannistar.
